Company Statement regarding Hemp Seed Oil in Cosmetics

SGPomades hereby announces our voluntary decision to stop the sale of and to return or dispose off all stocks containing Hemp Seed Oil a.k.a. Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil and to work with brand manufacturers in producing future batches of affected products with said ingredient replaced with other organic seed oils.

This is a decision made after consulting our professional contacts in the local cosmetics industry. According to Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), Hemp Seed Oil even in the form of seed oil, may contain trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a psychoactive chemical substance that is also a Class A controlled drug and therefore cannot be imported in and sold in Singapore. There exists some scientific research that have proven this. Although according to manufacturers of the Hemp Seed Oil supplied to the pomade manufacturers, the refinement process ensured there is no tetrahydrocannabinol in the oil, our company sees the difficulty of having to provide extensive proof for this and therefore will stop importation and retail of any products containing Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil.

Our Oversight

Our company normal procedure of cosmetics checks follows the Health Sciences Authority of Singapore recommendations with a 2 steps process. Firstly we check that product comply with labelling requirements. Secondly we check that the ingredients in cosmetic products comply with the requirement of the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive (a 240+ page list of ingredients). There was no mention in the aforementioned document about this ingredient. It is our oversight to not realize that although Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil is generally deemed globally to be safe for food or cosmetics use, it is not accepted in Singapore according to CNB. We can be contacted at support@sgpomades.com by relevant authorities and will fully cooperate if required.

Authentic!

Great product and definitely the real deal! The smell is amazing! Not used yet as bought it as gift. From order to delivery - no hiccups and it was quick! 👍🏼👍🏼

Solid clay

Very reliable clay that has a strong hold. With 2 moderate scoops, my hair lasts more than 8 hours on a normal singapore day. Amazing buy!! Would highly recommend To anyone looking for a great holding matte product

Cool effect

Easy to apply using hand so far but have to tried with brush. Like the cooling effect which helps.
Overall good product

Fantastic product

Hair length: 9 inches/23 cm
Hair type: Thick, straight

Hold: natural, replicates the hold of natural hair oils very well.
Application: Easy, the cream is very easy to work into your hair and does not tug or pull at the follicles.
Washability: Easy, cream washes out on a single wash, does not even need shampoo.

Best pre-styler of 2019?

The product dispenses as a cream and breaks down easily in the palms. Application was a breeze. I applied to damp hair and blow dry. Great volume and texture. And it is extremely restylable during the day too. You can use this as a standalone product for a casual day out and it would work just fine :)
