Nonetheless, Donnie Hawley, Layrite's impassioned founder, was still on a mission to enhance his clients' haircuts. His technique was hampered by his customers' use of older petroleum-based treatments that wouldn't rinse off. Donnie worked hard to find a solution, never wanting to limit style while being committed to a high standard of barbering. The final product was a water-soluble pomade that "Holds Like Wax and Washes Out Like Gel."
